Student View
Here is a current students view on their experience of the course.
My name is Gary Percy and I am currently in my second year of studying A-Level P.E. In the first year we learnt about anatomy and physiology, socio-cultural studies and acquiring movement skills, the 3 parts of AS level P.E. Each was challenging in their own way, and we undertook an exam on all 3 in the summer of 2011. Throughout the year I found the teachers extremely helpful and keen to help us understand anything we may have been struggling with. In addition to this they also put on after school revision sessions leading up to our exam in order to give us the best chance to perform well in AS level P.E.
Currently in A2 level, we are studying exercise physiology, comparative studies, and historical studies. These areas are helping us to further expand our knowledge of P.E and how everything has an effect on performance. Again the teachers have done everything they can to keep our lessons interesting and different every time, whilst still providing us with the necessary knowledge to perform well in the June exam. Also we have been undertaking a chosen sport for the last year outside of school, and we will be examined on our performance of this at the end of the year as well.
After my time at Warlingham I am hoping to go on to university and study a Sport and Exercise Science degree. Hopefully this will eventually lead to a job related to sport in a number of years. This will mean I can continue to follow my love for everything to do with sport onto the next level and I think the Warlingham P.E department has given me the tools needed to do so.
